For those of you who do not know me , I am an 18 year resident
of Laguna Niguel. I met my
wife Sharon here 17 years ago and it is here that we felt would be the best
place to raise our family.
How right we were. We are proud to
be raising three daughters here in Laguna Niguel. We are impressed with our schools and
their dedicated staffs, the feeling of community, the friendliness and
feeling of safety in our city, and the great facilities it has for all
to enjoy. We believe
Laguna Niguel is one of the finest cities anywhere.
Through the years
I have always felt a duty to participate in the community. When my
homeowner’s association needed representatives, I stepped up and
have served for many years as either president or treasurer. When
my daughters sports teams have needed a coach, I have stepped up and
served. When our children’s elementary school needed money to save
20 - 1, I stepped
up with others and raised the necessary funds. When the principal
of that school asked if I would help start a non-profit foundation
to continually raise money for the needs of the school, I stepped
up, and with the help of others successfully started the Marian
Bergeson Elementary School Foundation which has helped to meet those
needs. There I served as the Foundation’s President for three years
and then as it’s Parliamentarian to help with a smooth transition
for the next administration.
I believe that we need to be fiscally conservative, especially during
this time of economic uncertainty.
Projects under consideration by the city should take into
consideration any potential shortfalls in our anticipated income and
their necessity looked at as to how it will serve the community, not any
special interests.
I believe that the safety of our residents must be job one and that
anything we can do, within reason, to maintain and even increase our levels of police and
fire funding are imperative.
I believe that traffic mitigation around our schools and everywhere in
our community should be a priority.
I believe
that the
needs of the residents of this city need to be considered in all
decisions made by the city council.
I believe that most of us live here because we enjoy all that Laguna
Niguel has to offer its residents; award winning schools, a great
location, excellent parks and facilities and a feeling of neighborhood.
As a local Real Estate Broker, Community Leader, Friend and Neighbor who
listens, I believe that I bring a well rounded perspective to the needs
of our City and the hurdles which it faces in these economic times.
I have no personal agenda and I am not looking to serve my needs as a councilman, I am looking
to serve the community's needs by listening to what the residents have
to say.
I am proud to be a husband, a father, a friend, your neighbor and soon
with your help, your representative as City Council Member.
Sincerely,
Sam June
